Purchasers of grain can use Grain Trading Online as a way to broaden their sourcing options.

To look at grain listings you can either:

a.click on Categories eg. Wheat, Barley or Sorghum; or
b.click on Search on the tab under the GTO logo; or
c.click on Find in the Buy section.

All grain is listed in a table format. You can view the grain in ascending or descending order by clicking on the heading eg. Tons

For example – if you click Tons then the grain will be listed from the largest number of tons to the smallest, or if you click on Bid/t the grain will be sorted by the price per tonne.

Search

To search for grain click Search on the tab under the GTO logo.

To view every item of grain listed click Search (you may need to change the closing date). Otherwise you can refine your search by choosing a Category, Locality, Accessibility and/or Closing Date.

Once grain is listed in the table format, you can click on any of the description (ie. the words) to give you further information on that grain.

The information page will list:

Location
Storage
Accessibility

Delivery Date
Time remaining until bid closes
Price of the current bid

This page is where you can bid on grain. Enter your bid in dollars only (no cents). The minimum bidding increase is $1.00

Following your bid you are asked to confirm your bid. This will detail the price of your bid per tonne and the total purchase price.

As a buyer you have the option to inform the seller that you would like the grain before the bidding closes.

To do this you place a bid under the grain's description then click Place Bid. On the page following, click on the red text

The seller will then be contacted advising them that you want the grain prior to the closing date. The seller then has the opportunity to accept the offer you have made.

Please be aware that this bid is only valid if accepted by the Seller. That is, if the Seller does not accept your offer but you would still like to make a bid with the effective closing date, then you must make another bid by repeating the process (except this time you will NOT click on Do you want to buy before the closing date?
